It’s finally baseball’s official opening day (COVID edition)! While games start tonight, we’ve got a workout to do today to get you ready. We asked Oakland Athletics pitcher TJ McFarland to put together a baseball player’s typical workout. So before you sit down to the game tonight, add this to your schedule. Let’s get into it. 


Active Warm Up

Treadmill Workout

2 minute  3.5 mph (warmup)

1 minute   3.0 mph   Incline 15

1 minute   5.5 mph   Incline 7.5

1 minute   6.5 mph   Incline 3.5

1 minute   8-9 mph  no incline

Repeat 2-3 times 

 

Post Game/Next Day lift

Deadlift (3 sets of 6)

Super set with skater jumps

Bench Row (3 sets of 6)

Super set with 3-way plank (20 seconds each)

Single leg Hip Thrust off bench (3 sets of 6)

Bosu Push Up (2 sets of 10)

Med Ball Wall Series (2 sets of 8)

Hamstring Ball Curls (3 sets of 8)

TRX Rows (2 sets of 10)

X Pull Combo (2 sets of 8)

 

Finish with Core (changes daily so pick your favorites)
